Exeter Produce is the largest grower of fresh market vegetables in Ontario.  To maintain our position as a leader in the industry, we have effectively utilized the strategy of implementing the latest in technologies to provide our customers with the highest quality and value.

Field Technology

Exeter produce recognizes crop rotation as a critical element to our present and future success.  Grain crops like corn, wheat, and hay set the basis for proper soil preparation as well as weed and disease control.  Crop rotation has significantly reduced the volume of pesticides required without sacrificing the quality of our vegetables. 

Our cabbage success starts with disease free transplants.  Greenhouse grown cabbage plants placed on drip irrigation allows us to enter the market place early.

Several types of irrigation reduce plant stress enabling us to cost effectively provide our customers with a mature and healthy product.

Field Peppers are grown on plastic mulch with trickle irrigation to ensure a longer growing season and a larger, higher quality product.

Weekly tissue sampling enables us to detect nutrient deficiencies and disease problems.

Harvesting Technology

Exeter Produce is constantly researching and upgrading harvesting aids to supply harvested produce with maximum efficiency and minimum handling and bruising.

Processing and Packaging Technology

Exeter Produce has custom designed each one of it's production lines to ensure uniform sizing and minimum handling.

We believe killing bacteria and pre-cooling product is essential for post harvest delivery as well as prolonged shelf life.  We have employed the latest technology, matching the product with the type of cooling required.  PLU coding is available on several products.  Exeter Produce is constantly striving to improve and bring our customer the best available.
